Shopping by appointment in Justo Leiden store

The Dutch government announced during the press conference on 23 February, that starting from 16 March, stores will be able to receive customers by appointment. The stores can allow two customers per floor at a time and the appointment slot needs to last at least 10 minutes. The reason behind this is to prevent contact between customers as much as possible in the case of rapid customer turnover. Besides that, the basic rules such as wearing a face mask and staying 1.5 meter apart, basic hygiene measures and staying home when experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, will still apply at all times.

This is some wonderful news for our store in Delft. We can start welcoming our customers again and share our precious pieces. These measures will mean a change in our service and routine, so in this article we want to inform you what you can expect and what is going to change.

What will these measures look like?

Making an appointment:

Our customers can make an appointment on our Justo website or by calling the store at least 4 hours in advantage. The customer will receive a conformation and ticket by email. The ticket contains and barcode and all the information about safely shopping. The customer can print this ticket or show it on their phones as long as the barcode is clear. This barcode needs to be scanned and registered when the customer enters the store on the set time. The customer is also expected to honestly answer questions regarding symptoms of COVID-19.

In the store:

We are allowed to welcome two customers per timeslot in our store in Leiden. Our timeslots are set on 1 hour, so we have enough time to provide our precious service to our customers. When our customers enter the store, they will have to wear a face mask, disinfect their hands, and stay 1.5 meter apart from one and another. We will set up a route that the customers can follow and set up different desks where the customer can fit the jewellery and discuss their wants, needs and wishes and order the jewellery. The jewellery that is used for fitting needs to be held apart and disinfected in between the timeslots. We also expect from you to stay at least 1.5 meters apart, wear a facemask, and regularly disinfect your hands and desks. Additionally, make sure that the disinfection pump is being filled regulary.

Around 15 minutes before the timeslot ends, the customers have to be made aware of this. One of our employees will broadcast this over the speakers. Make sure all customers have left the store in time to prevent contact in the case of rapid customer turnovers. In exceptional cases, the customer can stay longer. In this case you have to make sure the contact between customers is prevented as much as possible. When customers leave, we want to start providing them with a little goody bag to thank them for choosing us and their support during these rough times. This goody bag contains a canvas bag with our logo, a discount for their next purchase, some goodies from other local stores, and a Japanese Omamori to celebrate the opening of our store in Japan. Returns and defects:

For returns and defects, our customers are also asked to make an appointment. This encourage to take the time to discuss what the problem is and how to provide a well-fitted solution. Defect product will be repaired by one of our silversmiths and be picked up at a later moment.

Pick-up:

For pick-ups nothing changes. Our customers will receive an e-mail or phone call mentioning that their order is ready for pick-up. These pick-ups will continue but be aware that they are not allowed behind the pick-up area at the cashier. Customers who like to pick-up their products are asked to stop by at a certain moment and have to ring our doorbell to be allowed in. They can sit and wait in the pick-up area. The customer can check the order and has the opportunity to pay but is then asked to leave.

We do realize that this situation is not ideal, but we do have to make the best out of it. Making the world a little better, a little kinder and more beautiful, one piece at the time.
